3e circonscription
La troisième circonscription de la Dordogne s’étend sur toute la partie nord du département, jouxtant les départements de la Charente à l’ouest, de la Haute-Vienne au nord et de la Corrèze à l’est.
Sa superficie est de 3 134 km², sa population de 86 893 habitants (recensement de 1999).
C’est la circonscription la plus étendue du département.
Les paysages sont vallonnés et verdoyants, traversés par de nombreuses rivières, telles que l’Isle et ses affluents, dont la Dronne et l’Auvézère, la Côle…
Terre rurale, cette circonscription vit essentiellement des produits du bois, de l’agriculture et de l’élevage. Mais aussi, et de plus en plus, du tourisme !
Associé à son environnement naturel propice à la détente et à la promenade, son patrimoine culturel attire des visiteurs français et étrangers, plus nombreux d’année en année.
Une partie de la troisième circonscription est comprise dans le Parc naturel régional Périgord-Limousin, qui protège et met en valeur le patrimoine environnemental, économique et culturel du territoire.
